The phone has been treating me well. Just disappointed with the free encoding software I found. I guess cheapness is my weakness. I tried PocketDivx and I didn't like that it doesn't allow you to choose the file format you want to use. Found a couple of programs that you have to pay for but they worked better. ImTOOZune worked ok and it kepted the aspect ratio thought the quality of the video in MediaCoder was better but I guess you can't have it all. I hope they get mediacoder together soon. I like how it is implemented with the phone version.
I do think the phone is slowing down typical Windows I assume. They really need to fix the memory leak. All that damn money they make and they haven't fixed that mess yet. I'm still pissed at Sprint for making me have to resort to hacks for picture mail and Sprint TV. My dumb ass lost the leather case that came with the phone. Don't know if I can get it replaced with the insurance I will see.
The Battery life aint that bad. I can go all day without worry even though I play music and IM throughout the day. I don't have any real complaints at the moment all is well.

I prefer what they call "White Box" or a non proprietary system ( not Dell, or HP) My experience with proprietary systems has been less than desirable. I have come across all kinds of crazy issues from not allowing certain devices to work by crippling them in the bios, to odd ball screws that force you to buy new tools to work on the damn thing. Example: I guy I use to work with bought a Dell. He later bought a DVD player that wasn't on their list of devices. It didn't work. I put the same player in my machine ( one I built) and it worked. I had another incident with a Dell regarding memory. It worked in my old machine but would not work in the Dell. Both machine had the same memory specs.
My advice is to go with the white box any chance you get.

I picked up a HTC Mogul last week. I was happy at first until the dreaded day. I received a picture from some chick. I tried to send her one back but was frustrated. I went to the manual and found nothing on how to send picture mail with this phone. I did a search only to find out that the phone does not support picture mail! That is the craziest thing I ever heard of. How do you sell your flagship phone without the ability to utilize all of your services? Whatever moron at Sprint that made this decision should be hung and shot.
During my search I found out that there is a hack to remedy this.
Download this file http://www.ppcgeeks.com/files/PPCGeeksSprintMMS.zip
Unzip the file on your phone. install the cab file (just double click on it, then soft reset. (There is a little hole on the bottom of the phone, use your stylus and press. This will restart the phone.
Use a registry edit program I used ppcKilmistRegedit ( or do a search on registry edit for Windows Mobile 6) install on your pc sync your phone and it will install on the phone.
Use your regedit program and navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\ArcSoft MMS UA\Config\UI
Click to open EnableServerEdit and change the key from 0 to 1. Soft reset.
You will then have the option to send pictures to phones. The drawback is you can't get numbers from your contacts.

At this point and time I wouldn't buy HD-DVD or BluRay. One I think it's total BS that they didn't come out with a hybrid of both technologies. Two unless there is a drive that plays both I'm not interested. I'm not trying to get caught out there with either one. If you bought a console that plays one or the other it is understandable. Personally I think the PC is the more versatile platform. Let's be real, a Xbox or Playstation is just another computer. You already have one. It's like buying the same thing twice.
I like the PC best due to its versatility and modular construction. You can play Divx, mpeg 4, mpeg2, avi when you want via a simple download. With a console you either have to hack it or wait for vendor support. Who needs that. It's my machine I want to do what I want to do, when I feel like it.
There are cases available that look like stereo components that would fit right in with your system. They way to go if you ask me.
